roofRENOVATIONS RESUME AT REGGAE STREET COMPOUND

After years of delay due to struggles with the powers that be, and other attempts to stop us, planned renovations needed to move forward with our work have resumed. The final road blocks have been cleared to secure our headquarters. It has been a massive effort, but our faith in the Most High Jah and the need for the work we do, we always knew we would prevail against the forces of Babylon.

The picture above shows the new roofs being tiled. We started with the roofs of our two main buildings, the Rectory, to the left, and the Community House on the right. The new solar systems will be installed once the roofs are completely finished.

Once this phase is through, we will begin working on the Community House and our Tabernacle. We are now in the digital age for communication. Because of it, we are able to communicate with people all around the world. Even live communication, and video streaming and conferencing is possible. This is why Olufunmi has decided to outfit our Community House and Tabernacle with digital capabilities. The Community House meeting area will be set up to broadcast meetings, and to be an intimate area for live interviews and podcasts. The Tabernacle will be converted into a complete video and audio studio, enabeling us to stream services, nyabinghis, meetings, performances etc. The Community House will get a "pro" style kitchen so we can reopen our "soup: kitchen, and do meals for events and fund raising.

TabernacleWe're looking for muralists to do the front of the Tabernacle, (picture to the right), as well as the whole Community House. Also looking for carpenters, floor installers, electrician, and folks familiar with studio building. If you have any of the skills we need, or just want volunteer to be a part of the adventure, or you have some resources to donate, contact us at reggaestreet@olufunmi.org.

Once things are up and ready, we,ll be looking to staff our operations. We welcome all Rasta people and supporters to come forward and be a part of this wonderful adventure in service to our community. For we are, "The Roots Growing Deeper Taking Stronger Hold". JAH Rastafari liveth Itinually!
